I'm Just Beginning to Experiment with Color
Georgia  enjoys the fusion of Eastern and Western art traditions to create paintings of representational subject matter in a variety of water soluble mediums. She says "Because I'm just beginning to experiment with color mediums I'm still developing a style.
Some have called Georgia Hoopes a self-taught artist but she doesn't feel she fits into that category. She was born with an innate ability to draw and three years ago she decided to paint. Much to the surprise of her family and friends, she announced that she would do a series of tropical paintings in watercolor to decorate the Kauai condo she and her husband just bought.

"I believe art has the power to bring joy and healing to both the observer and the artist, as well as bring back joy to the injured heart. Finding the brilliance of the healing luminosity of light, color, and symbolism is part of my personal journey toward creativity and self-realization."

She is excited about using other paint mediums and acrylic naturally follows watercolor. An acrylic technique by Robert Burridge called "Loosen Up  With  Acrylics" has captured her imagination and brought her recent  success at the San Diego Watercolor Society monthly membership shows.
